Papakura Museum

Papakura Museum (209 Great South Road, Papakura, Auckland 2244) — this museum was established in 1962 by the Papakura & Districts Historical Society. It’s a community establishment that focuses on telling the rich and diverse history of Papakura and surrounding districts. A permanent display of text, image and local artifacts tells the story of settlement, colonization, industry, war, farming and progress. Each year, the Museum also hosts at least four short-term exhibits, or travelling exhibitions on a variety of local, regional, national and international topics. Between 2014 and 2019 the World War I centenary takes center stage with a number of exhibitions and activities being planned.
