Auckland Transport (AT)
Auckland Transport (AT) – the local metro train system, known as Auckland Transport (AT), has four lines (Western Line, Eastern Line, Southern Line, Onehunga Line) that covers the metropolitan Auckland area – getting commuters into and out of the city’s CBD (central business district).
Most train cash fares are charged on the distance you wish to travel. Distance based stage points are used to calculate the fare charged. Stage points are set at specific points along the railway line and are set up the same as the bus stage points. If your journey travels across a stage point then the fare increases. For instance if you were to make a journey from New Lynn Station to Mt Eden Station you would pass through stage points at Mt Albert and Kingsland. Therefore you’d travel a total of three stages. Based on this system, adult fare car run from $2.00 (1 stage) to $10.50 (8 stages). Travelers are advised to go to the following website to determine the fare from point A to point B:
